Ruth Lira

SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST NORTH PERTH

Our senior physiotherapist, Ruth Lira, joined the APS Physio team in late 2023. She brings over 12 years of experience in private practice. Ruth has worked with patients of all ages—from children to older people.

Ruth’s treatment approach focuses on manual therapy and exercise rehabilitation. As part of the APS Physio team, she has a wealth of experience managing musculoskeletal conditions, occupational injuries, and patients with balance or dizziness issues. Her advanced training in vestibular and balance rehabilitation, from local and international trainers, further enhances her expertise in treating these conditions.

In addition, Ruth holds a postgraduate qualification in Performing Arts Medicine from University College London. Her focus is on rehabilitating artists such as singers, musicians, dancers, and circus performers. She is particularly interested in jaw and fascial pain, headaches, and stress-related injuries commonly experienced by performers in high-pressure environments.

At APS Physio, we believe in holistic care. We offer a wide range of services, including sports physiotherapy, dance physiotherapy, and injury prevention programs. The APS Physio team is committed to providing personalized care plans that meet the unique needs of every patient.

Ruth has also served as the Chair of the Mental Health Group of the Australian Physiotherapy Association for the past five years. Now, she continues to be an active committee member. She collaborates with other clinicians to address the physical and mental health needs of patients.
